My research vision is centred around the control of quantum phenomena from the bottom up, as applied to atom-like systems and to their interface with quantum light. In particular, I aim to develop the technological backbone of a quantum internet by leveraging the optical and spin coherence properties of single photon emitters in semiconductor materials such as GaAs and diamond. I also aim to build up the ability to optically programme arrays of spin quantum bits that interact via on-demand dipolar forces, an architecture which has found great promise in Rydberg atom arrays (see e.g QuEra Inc), and which I now plan to transform and scale by implementing in the solid state.
